She was still up.
The curtains at her window rose and fell to the rhythm of her own heart. The soft moon beams of the night lit up her room dimly with it's soft white glow, illuminating her polka-dotted comforter. Her pale fingers were wrapped tightly together, clenching and unclenching to the throbbing hurt in her chest. Her closed her lids against her shiny blue eyes, replaying again and again that particular scene, thinking that if she rehearsed that scene as much times as it took, she would soon get over it, get sick of it and be able to move on.
Another stab. Another tear.
Blood.
No. Again. She thought to herself.
Just one more time. I know, I know that it would happen the next time, she pleaded.
It twisted. It squeezed. And...
It burst.
